RUSTMINE welcomes Damian Hassett!
10.12.2008
We are pleased to announce that Damian Hassett has joined the band as RUSTMINE's new, full time bass player. The band has had an overwhelming response from bass players from the local community, and a few from out of state, which humbled the band immensely. The decision to choose a bass player was a really tough one to make for the band. The band took some time to look at all of the interested players, as well as some personal time to re-evaluate where the band is, and where they want to go.
The band is really excited to move forward with Damian because Damian plays, writes, and is truly happy to be part of the band. “I am so thrilled that we now have a guy who is happy to be in the band, to practice and write with us. We have a new sense of what a band should be, and all of us are now having fun again. We did not miss a beat or a show. Everything worked out for the absolute best. I did want to mention that I/we are still very grateful that our Producer Gunnar Jacobson came in and helped us move forward while we were in a tough spot. We still owe him more than we could ever repay.” said Rhythm guitarist Josh Smeller.
Special thanks to Gunnar Jacobson for playing with us at the Portland Vocal Seminar on Sept. 16th
09.17.2008
A very special thanks goes to Gunnar Jacobson (Rustmine's Producer/Sound Engineer at Northern Lights Recording Studio) for learning 8 songs in two weeks, when we were left "bass-less" a few weeks before this show. Thank you very much Gunnar, we could have not done it without you!! -Josh, Jay, Sam, Tracy
